Welcome to the flow
Where both of us—Anais and Paulina—share our journeys to understanding our bodies and cycles. For me, Paulina, it started with battling painful periods, while Anais delved into how diet and exercise impact her cycle. Together, we're on a mission to empower women to embrace their bodies and rhythms. This is our story...
The inspiration behind "The Flow Code" blossomed from my personal journey of seeking ways to alleviate menstrual discomfort and nurture my body in the healthiest way possible. I became curious about how different foods and exercises could positively impact my cycle and overall well-being. This exploration was not a sudden revelation but a slow uncovering of self-discovery that really connected with my own life experiences. As I educated myself on the topic, I became fascinated by the concept of being "in the flow" simply by showing up for myself and honoring my body's needs. Living in alignment with my natural phases became more than just a health strategy—it became a transformative personal experiment, allowing me to understand myself on profound levels. I share this journey and invite others to embrace their divine essence and experience the beauty of living in harmony with their bodies and souls.

Nurturing our rhythm, discovering our strength.
When I was little, I was very athletic. I was on every sports team and took ballet classes at the same time. I was proud of myself because I always won every challenge I faced. But when I was in 5th grade, all the girls started getting their periods and they would tell me, "Enjoy the privilege of moving your body as you want because when your period comes, you won't be able to do as much; the pain of being a woman." So, when I got my period, I was super scared. Since I was growing up in a Mexican household, my family didn't talk much about this topic, but all my "tias" had horrible cramps growing up, so I guess it was obvious that I was going to have the same generational pain. Since I started getting my period, everything changed around me, even my body. My dad and my brother didn't let me play with them because I was a lady, and every month I had to stay on the bench because of the horrible pain and blood that the period provoked in me. It was getting worse and worse, and all they could tell me was to take an Advil. I had to take four Advils of 200g to get me into a deep sleep so I wouldn't be in pain.
Until my grandma started taking care of me when my parents had to get me out of school because I was vomiting in the restroom during all my classes. That's when my grandma stepped in, and she would always give me cinnamon tea and bean caldito because I was losing tons of blood. She would always say, "Don't put your body into hard exercises and drink and eat what you are going to lose on your bleeding days." One day, when I fainted in school because of the pain, they took me to my grandma's, and she took care of me, and we had a talk. I asked her why it was so painful to be a woman, and she replied, "It's not painful; it's that they don't teach you how to work with your body during those days." That stuck with me so deeply. How many women don't know how to work with their bodies, with their flow? How many women are terribly mistreated when they ask for help from their gynecologists? Why do my gynecologists tell me to take the pill to regulate my hormones instead of just giving me a diet and exercises for those days? Why aren't doctors telling me what to eat to feel good with my body? Why aren't they telling us the proper way to heal this pain? This is why it motivated me to start The Flow Code because so many women are suffering from their periods when it's supposed to be a sign of good health. Nobody should experience a painful period. Women should be connected to their womb, to their portal of life. And this is what this community is about—learning your flow, learning to be inside your body, to listen to your body, to flow with it, to learn your flow code.
